Electric locos

By the end of the 19th century, the first electric locomotives already have been in service as cable cars. Advantages of the electric locomotives compared to the older steam and diesel locomotives were the lack of exhaust emissions and the higher torque available on start-up. On the contrary, these locomotives could only be used on track with the appropriate power supply.
