The PIKO models of the 187 / 147 series take into account the differences between the two series, including the modified head shape and the train destination display on the passenger version. The solid motor provides excellent running characteristics with a precisely balanced flywheel mass. The tractive effort of the locomotive, which is driven over all four axles, is boosted by two traction tires mounted diagonally on the inside running axles of both bogies. The locomotive can run on radii from 310 mm. The front and rear lamps are illuminated by LEDs whose red or white changes with the direction of travel, whereby the red "tail light" can be switched digitally. With their PluX22 interface, the models are prepared for digital operation and sound decoders.
