Novelty 2024: The modern BR 101 in the design of the Train Charter Services company. The single-arm pantographs have been reproduced in extremely delicate detail and sharply engraved bogies round off the visual appearance. Brake hoses that can be retrofitted are included to complete the model.A powerful, 5-pole motor ensures a smooth ride. Equipped with two flywheels, the PIKO BR 101 is extremely smooth-running. Two diagonally mounted traction tyres provide traction when moving forward. The cab and drivers desk lighting are a technical highlight. The light changes depending on the direction of travel in red/white, naturally using the latest LED technology. These functions can be switched separately in digital operation. This is controlled by a PSD XP sound decoder installed ex works.

The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centres, a new fits mfx® quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test.These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the fits mfx® quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the fits mfx® logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
